FAQ
This depends on the type of gel pack you received. Only drain the contents if the pack is specifically identified as drain-safe, and follow the disposal instructions printed on the packaging.
Can I pour the contents of a gel pack down the drain?
How do I dispose of
Cold Leaf gel packs?
Our Cold leaf gel packs are designed for convenient disposal. Follow the disposal instructions provided with your specific product and applicable local waste and recycling guidelines.
If they are still intact, gel packs may be reused for personal cooling purposes. If you no longer need them, please contact your medicine provider.
What should I do with the gel packs that came with my medication?
Our ColdSafe gel packs are meant to be reused and cannot be recycled. They can be returned to the sender or disposed by placing in the trash.
Our ColdLeaf gel packs are recyclable (plastic #4) and drain-friendly. Simply follow the disposal instructions on the back of the gel pack.
How do I dispose of ColdSafe or ColdLeaf gel packs?
What should I do if a gel pack breaks or leaks?
Our gel packs contain a non-toxic, water-based gel. If a gel pack breaks or leaks, clean up the gel with water and dispose of the damaged pack according to local waste disposal requirements.
Yes. On-site services are available for applications where equipment cannot easily be removed from operation or where performing the work directly at your facility is more practical.
Can CCSE perform calibration or qualification at our facility?
Calibration should be calibrated yearly. UNI°COLD sensors can be managed through a structured annual calibration program.
How often should temperature
sensors be calibrated?
Yes. Depending on the service, CCSE provides protocols, reports, calibration certificates, qualification documentation, and other records designed to support your quality and compliance requirements.
Do you provide documentation for audits?
Typically, we evaluate your payload, required temperature range, shipment duration, product dimensions, distribution conditions, and operational requirements to determine the appropriate solution.
What information do you need to recommend cold chain packaging?
The MEDI°COLD liner is manufactured with 100% recyclable plastics (#1 and #4). Separate the liner, corrugated cardboard, and refrigerants and recycle each according to local recycling requirements.
How do I recycle MEDI°COLD Liners after use?
Yes. The MEDI°COLD liner can be reused as long as it remains clean and undamaged, with both side panels securely attached to the main liner panel, no tears in the blue fabric, and a minimum wall thickness of 2 inches with no visible material compression.
Can the MEDI°COLD
Liner be reused?
UNI°COLD sensors continue recording measurements locally (up to 10 days). Once communication is restored, stored data is automatically transmitted to the system.
What happens if a UNI°COLD sensor temporarily loses connection with the gateway or internet?
Check that the sensor is powered and within communication range of the nearest UNI°COLD Gateway. If the sensor remains offline, contact Cold Chain Science Technical Support at support@coldchainscience.com for assistance.
What should I do if a sensor goes offline without an apparent cause?
UNI°COLD Sensors have an expected battery life of approximately 1.5 years. However, as part of the annual calibration included with all UNI°COLD subscription, replacement sensors are calibrated each year with new batteries, helping ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation.
What is the battery life expectancy of a UNI°COLD Sensor?
In regulated applications, storage equipment and areas should be mapped and/or qualified to demonstrate that required environmental conditions are consistently maintained before routine use.
Do I need temperature mapping before using new cold storage equipment?
Requalification or remapping should follow a risk-based schedule and be performed after significant changes, repairs, relocation, or other events that could affect performance.
How often should storage or transport equipment be requalified or remapped?
Yes. We support clients with documentation, technical expertise, and fast responses related to our qualification, monitoring, calibration, and compliance services.
Can Cold Chain Science support us during a Health Canada inspection or regulatory audit?
